team had ushered in. It was the most amazing feeling I'd ever
experienced. And though leaving was hard, I had something new to take
home with me. Immediately I found myself being involved with the worship
at the church I was attending in my hometown. I soon became one of the
two youth worship leaders and found myself in the shoes of the one who'd
atone time brought me into the throne room of the Most High. It was
where I wanted to be. I never wanted to stop.
I knew that God had other plans for me in the area of worship, and I
wasn't personally getting all that I needed out of it. So, God called me
to Almond Blossom Fellowship and told me to wait. Wait? What
could I possibly wait on? But I obeyed and the Lord showed me what I
needed to see.
I was blessed by attending a Summer of Service (SOS) in the area of worship
at YWAM Chico in 2002. There, I learned things I'd never known. This was
what God wanted me to wait for. He wanted me to experience what I did at
YWAM so that I could return and become the youth worship team leader and
partner with Tina Henson in leading worship for the adults and on outreach.
My vision for worship, not just at Almond Blossom, but anywhere I lead
worship is to usher others into the throne room of God like I'd once
experienced. I want people to meet God in any way possible, but if I can
lead them through worship, I'd be extremely satisfied with the gifts God
has given me. To me, worship is the easiest way to listen to God, and if
you can hear God through my worship, my calling and life goal have been
achieved.
"But I will sing of Your strength, in the morning I will sing of Your love,
for You are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble. Oh my strength, I
sing praise to You; You, O God, are my fortress, my loving God."
- Psalm 59:16-17
